The Issue
We, the community, are calling on property owners to have some pride, and clean up the rundown store fronts on Queen Street East.
It is hard enough running a small business in the beaches.
Imagine being a business owner, and having to pass a string of dilapidated storefronts every day. Imagine taking such pride in your business, only to have the space beside or across from you be completely rundown.
Longstanding abandoned spaces along Queen Street East hurt the neighbourhood and make it even harder for business owners to succeed in already trying times. These spaces send a message that no one cares about Queen Street when nothing could be further from the truth.
If property owners want to reap the benefits of property value in the beaches, then be good neighbours.
