The Issue

We did everything right. Beach, Please! told us when its Black Friday sale would start. We waited, bought on the festival’s official website, paid, and received our order confirmations. Then Beach, Please! cancelled our tickets, blamed the timing on us, and offered a discount code that expired the same night.

We’re asking Beach, Please! to take responsibility for its own mistake and honour the tickets it sold.

What happened on 6 November 2026 (Romanian/Bulgarian time)

• 8:00 AM: The start time Beach, Please! announced in the days before: “Starting at 8:00 AM (7 AM Hungarian Time)” and “Black Friday starts tomorrow at 8AM.”
• That morning: A “Black Friday Update: Bulgaria & Hungary.” Due to “unexpected technical difficulties,” the sale was “now expected to kick off at around 12:00 PM RO & BG Time (11 AM Hungary Time).” The festival promised to announce the exact time once confirmed, and assured us the crazy deals were still on: 350 symbolic-price passes for each country.
• Just after 12:00: The offer was live on beach-please.ro. We bought, paid, and received order confirmations.
• That afternoon: Cancellation emails arrived. Our orders had supposedly been placed “before the campaign had officially started.”
• 15:54: Hours after we had paid, and after the cancellations, Beach, Please! posted on Instagram that anyone who bought “BEFORE our official campaign launch at 12:30” holds a ticket that “is not valid.”

The start time went from 8:00, to “around 12:00,” to 12:30. The final time was published only after people had already paid.

Their apology, line by line

“You bought … before the campaign had officially started.”
We bought after the start time Beach, Please! itself had announced. The “official” 12:30 start was published afterwards.

“It shouldn’t have been available yet.”
It was live on the official website at the campaign price, and the payment went through. No customer can be expected to guess that a live, paid offer on the official site isn’t real.

“While we were testing our Black Friday campaign we ran into some technical issues.”
That was the second “technical” problem of the same day. Testing on the live public site, with real payments, is the organizer’s responsibility, not the customer’s.

“This was entirely our mistake, not yours.”
We agree. So why are customers the ones losing their tickets?

“Your order has been cancelled and the money will go back to your card.”
Nobody asked us. Under the festival’s own terms, tickets are “non-refundable and non-transferable.” Apparently that rule only applies to customers.

“Because we love you … here’s a 40% discount code.”
It was valid for one ticket, only until 23:59 that same day. That left us a few hours to decide whether to pay many times what we had already paid for the same pass.

“Thank you for understanding.”
We understand exactly what happened. We don’t accept it.

Why this matters

Beach, Please! is one of the biggest festivals in Europe, and Black Friday was its biggest campaign of the year. If a festival can announce a start time, sell tickets at that time, take the money, and then cancel by naming a later “official” time afterwards, no promotion is worth trusting. People who acted in good faith shouldn’t pay for the organizer’s technical problems.

We ask Beach, Please! to:

Reinstate every Black Friday order that was paid, confirmed and then cancelled on 6 November 2026, at the price paid.
Confirm this publicly, and by email to every affected buyer.
Explain when the 12:30 start time was decided, and where it was announced before at least 12 PM. It's common sense that people will see the 12 PM statement you made and then just wait for the tickets on the site without checking your Instagram page every minute. Ridiculous.
