My husband returned from deployment overseas during the Christmas season and so as a family we were focused on reintegration. It is one of the challenges of military life that we embrace. It does mean, however, that I wasn't aware that the "Reject Violence" poster is still there - if it ever disappeared. The original piece that drew attention appears to be completely gone and I thank the BCTF for listening and hopefully realising that their information was indeed incorrect. I have made a call to Glen Hansman - who never did personally respond to my handwritten letter (essay!) regarding all of the offending publications. I hope that he will return my call and that we can get this poster taken down. It contains inaccurate information that is defamatory to the Canadian Armed Forces. I believe the great majority of educators want to present accurate information given the feedback from those who have signed this petition or messaged me. It is important that the union reflects that as a representative of the profession in this province.
