The goal of this petition is to stop the BC Assessment Authority from implementing excessive increases in property values for the purpose of increasing property tax revenues.  Many 2022 BC Assessment notices show increases between 20% to 70%, which is unreasonable by any standards.

At a time when British Columbians are struggling to deal with the financial challenges and general stress caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, the effects of climate change (wildfires and floods), soaring costs of basic necessities, and a nationwide housing affordability crisis, this is simply not the time for the BC Assessment Authority to be hitting British Columbians with higher property values for taxation.  These increases will only serve to hurt all British Columbians. 

Please sign if you would like to see these BC Assessment increases be dramatically reduced, or stopped altogether.
