BC Lower Mainland Vibrations
BC Lower Mainland Vibrations
The Issue
We demand that the ongoing tactile and audible low-frequency vibrations reported by multiple residents across various cities in BC's Lower Mainland be investigated by the authorities and stopped. These vibrations have persisted at all hours of the day, every day, for months. They resonate through structures and are shaking residents' bodies and homes. They sound like an idling engine and cannot be mitigated with earplugs or headphones. Residents universally report that this phenomenon worsens between approximately 10:30 pm and midnight, peaks between approximately 3:00 am and 4:00 am, and then continues to be disruptive well into the start of the day and beyond. It never fully stops.
These vibrations have caused sleep disturbances and prolonged sleep deprivation, which is legally considered a form of torture. Residents are also experiencing decreased appetite, dizziness, respiratory distress, eye and chest pressure and tremors, elevated blood pressure, elevated heart rate, and anxiety. Some are considering moving. Many residents have also temporarily left the Lower Mainland just for some respite from the issue. The vibrations are costing residents their health and money, and possibly their homes, jobs, and support networks. The vibrations are not just a minor inconvenience; they are a persistent disturbance that hampers daily activities and well-being.
To date, residents' reports to authorities have fallen on deaf ears. No one in leadership will concede this is happening, determine the source of these vibrations, or force a solution. These vibrations must be independently investigated and their source legally compelled by the relevant authorities to immediately cease its injurious activity. Whatever is causing this issue cannot be tasked with investigating itself. Those in leadership must act swiftly to safeguard residents' right to sleep and to quiet enjoyment of their homes. We demand an independent investigation, identification of the source, and a timely stop to these low-frequency vibrations. Let's work together to restore the tranquility of our communities.
ATTENTION PETITIONERS! Please draft an email outlining your experience with the vibrations and send it to the contacts listed below. A flood of reports cannot be ignored.
