Global News Story about our reward for working during a pandemic

The BC Government and the BC Liquor Distribution Branch have decided to give us a box of chocolates as a thank you for working.

What we have not been given is hazard pay, the full implementation of our contract, the end to being treated as disposable temporary workers (even after many years of continuous service), the recognition of the extreme hazards we are facing to make them billions. Or even the dignity of an explication as to why we are not worthy of these things.

They have decided that "life is like a box of chocolates" and we will never know when we will get fair working conditions and the compensation we deserve for working on the front lines of a pandemic. Thank you but keep the chocolates!
