The SNP are attempting to take over the BBC and in particular they want to introduce a Scottish 6 o'clock news to replace the current arrangement of national news followed by Scottish news. They claim to speak for the whole of Scotland when they say they want the BBC to hand over a substantial amount of the licence fee. They also claim that people in Scotland want more "Scottish" programmes. They also want BBC Scotland to be answerable to them. This is not the case. The SNP do not speak for the majority in Scotland. We want the BBC to remain a British broadcasting company. We want to continue to enjoy the high quality programmes it produces. We want to continue with the current arrangements regarding delivery of our news. Scotland is well served by the BBC both on the television and the radio. We do not want state propaganda tv controlled by the SNP.
