I wanted to write again because having reflected I was perhaps somewhat unnecessarily negative before and so might have disheartened you unnecessarily.
I think the petition is coming on slowly but surely and just yet it has not gone beyond Facebook. (One slight correction to what I said before is that it went public on Facebook and wasn't just restricted to the British Stammering Association's private page). I need some 'down' time but after a breather I will consider the most constructive way to further promote it.
I do still make the point however that as stammering does not naturally evoke sympathy with many people we are in for a 'long haul.' Again, please do what you can to persuade others to sign.
I am greatly encouraged that the British Stammering Association's chief executive, Norbert Lieckfeldt has signed. As he said, we may not change "Still Open All Hours," but we can make the BBC think hard about how it treats stammering in the future. I honestly believe we could do that with the comments some of you have already made. That would be more than a modest achievement!
I will send a further update at an appropriate time.
Take care.
John
