Thank you, I am moved.

Thank you all so much. I am particularly encouraged and moved by the number who have signed who seemingly do not stammer but are supporting not only family members but friends. I still have a way to go with promoting the petition. So far I have only used the British Stammering Association's closed group Facebook page. I should be promoting it further in the next few days. However, while I don't wish to dishearten and alarm you, I think I have to be frankly honest and say we have to be realistic about the chances of success. Those of you who have been following the discussion thread on the Facebook page will know that more disagree with me than agree (I guess that might surprise some of you!). That said, it is often the case that those who disagree are more likely to speak out than those who agree. After 3 days of that limited promoting I have 47 signatures. Not so bad but...! However, I reiterate I will be promoting it further and vigorously so may I make a rallying cry. Please talk to friends, relatives and colleagues about it and try to persuade them to sign and ask them to spread the word. I appreciate it is not always easy and ironically we are probably not helped by the fact the cause it stammering. It does not naturally promote sympathy. I hope I have made you determined to fight for it rather than disheartened you. 'Change.org' states we need 100 supporters. I am not clear if that means we can then present the petition or means something else, but I certainly think we can achieve that. Thank you in anticipation of your efforts and I will write again at an appropriate time. Best regards.
