Stop the BBC dropping the Met Office contract

Stop the BBC dropping the Met Office contract

The Issue

The UK's weather service has provided the data used for BBC forecasts since the corporation's first radio weather bulletin on 14 November 1922. Now the Met Office has lost the contract, and it's likely to go to a foreign competitor. However, no-one knows Britain's weather better than its own Met Office, and any replacement service provided on the cheap by foreign companies undercutting the Met Office will be vastly inferior. We call on the Director General of the BBC to scrap the tender process and reappoint the Met Office in perpetuity.
