Around 100,000 people protested against the Tories, blocking the streets of London. Had they damaged a statue of Churchill, you might have heard about it. Because they were well-behaved, the only way you would have known about a significant proportion of the British public taking the most drastic action that can be taken against a sitting government short of outright revolution is if you had read or tuned into American news channels. It is so sad that, apart from one momentary mention on Radio 4, there is a concerted effort by British media to keep the British people ignorant of acute dissatisfaction with the government. Their goal can only be to make us feel that we are alone in our anger, to demotivate us and to make us accept and swallow Tory medicine. Please spread the word that Brits are not a walkover and have just as much spine as the Icelanders. It is just that we have a biased media in this country which is closer to government than the people who pay for it.
