Nosotros, la comunidad inmigrante y nuestros aliados, denunciamos que ICE está operando de manera inconstitucional en nuestras calles. Hemos confirmado que los operativos se realizan sin presentar órdenes de arresto, sin debido proceso y contra personas que no tienen récord criminal.

Lo que está ocurriendo no es justicia: es persecución. La gente ya vive con terror de salir a trabajar, de llevar a sus hijos a la escuela, de caminar por un parque. Los inmigrantes sostienen la economía de Reno y Washoe, pero son tratados como si fueran desechables. 

A la Alcaldesa de Reno y a los miembros del Concilio Municipal: pronúnciense y actúen. Su silencio los hace cómplices. No basta con discursos: exigimos que declaren públicamente que Reno no será territorio de cacería migratoria.

Al Sheriff de Washoe County: que ponga fin inmediato a la colaboración con ICE y que deje de alquilar camas en la cárcel del condado para encarcelar inmigrantes.

Sobre el presupuesto del condado: rechazamos el uso de fondos públicos para ampliar la cárcel en lugar de invertir en vivienda, salud y educación. Esa ampliación solo alimenta el negocio de la persecución y la deportación.
Hoy decimos alto y claro: los derechos constitucionales también protegen a los inmigrantes. La dignidad no se negocia, y no permitiremos que Washoe se convierta en un campo de cacería.

🚨 Stop Illegal Persecution! ICE Out of Reno and Washoe

On behalf of Sin Filtros News and the Falconi en Vuelo CommunityWe, the immigrant community and our allies, denounce that ICE is operating unconstitutionally in our streets. We have confirmed that raids are being carried out without presenting arrest warrants, without due process, and against people with no criminal record.

What is happening is not justice: it is persecution. People already live in terror of going to work, of taking their children to school, of walking through a park. Immigrants sustain the economy of Reno and Washoe, yet they are treated as disposable.

We urgently demand:

To the Mayor of Reno and the members of the City Council: Speak out and take action. Your silence makes you complicit. Speeches are not enough: we demand that you publicly declare that Reno will not be a territory for immigration hunting.

To the Sheriff of Washoe County: Immediately end collaboration with ICE and stop renting out beds in the county jail to incarcerate immigrants.

Regarding the county budget: We reject the use of public funds to expand the jail instead of investing in housing, healthcare, and education. That expansion only feeds the business of persecution and deportation.

Today we say loud and clear: constitutional rights also protect immigrants. Dignity is not negotiable, and we will not allow Washoe to become a hunting ground.
