I kind of want to recap what’s going on and what’s happening now:
-Our hours have been decreased to 10:00am to 6:00pm.
-We have been limiting the amount of customers that come into the store (only 50 customers in the building).
-The customers have not been too aggressive lately but if you go back to my last update, you can see what we had to put up with the last couple of weeks.
-Recently, the company has had us and many other locations reduce their outfitter’s hours drastically to the point that we barely have any coverage. This stresses everyone out (note: Everyone still gets paid what they usually make).
-Managers and salaried outfitters are being made to select a certain percentage of their check to be cut due to the company likely struggling to pay their hourly outfitters.
-We finally put up plexiglass shields for our gun counter, a couple of our cash lanes, club booth, and at customer service.
This is the current update I have for now but I would like to make a proposition:
I would like to close our Illinois location and the others for at least 2 weeks. During those two weeks, we could sanitize the whole store, outfitters can stay home to quarantine, and we can still get paid the two weeks to stay home. I know the virus is still spreading and more cases are popping up in Illinois and everywhere else. I feel like it would give everyone a break from the craziness and to focus on our physical and mental health. We are tired, we are stressed, and we are worried about the future.
