I’ve just done back to back media interviews with ABC, 7 News and many others - after Barnaby Joyce announced a package to help dairy farmers this morning. Wow! I’m feeling really hopeful by this announcement, the impact of our campaign has been huge. This whole time I’ve focused on wanting quick help and a review on milk pricing, and now the government will put $2 million into establishing a milk price index. There are also direct payments to help with the retrospective cuts to our income. And investigations by regulators underway. I’m really pleased today - it won’t fix everything but it’s a real help. I’m now about to march with other dairy farmers to the steps Parliament House when I’ll do a speech.
