Hello, my name is Brandon, I am a law abiding citizen, a licensed concealed carry holder , and a firm lover of all firearms. Recently there has been numerous laws being passed and trying to be passed to ban the “ohh soo scary” Ar15. Let me prove some facts first of all. The abbreviation “AR” does NOT stand for “Assault Rifle” , it actually stands for “ARMALITE RIFLE” which is an American small firearms company that was founded in the 1950’s. There has been FAR TOO MUCH misguided and mislabeling information provided from people who are trying to SCARE the general public. The Ar15 is a civilian use SEMI-Auto rifle, this means you pull the trigger ONCE it fires ONE round, the activist who want to BAN this rifle claim the weapon is “fully automatic”.  The “fully automatic “ version of this weapon is NOT an AR-15, it is called the M4 CARBINE and it is for MILITARY use ONLY! It is not sold to the general public. 

NOW that the cold hard facts are out of the way, let’s get to the basis of this petition. Banning ANY SORT OF FIREARM will not stop ANY SORT OF CRIME, CRIMINALS do not follow the law.
The PROBLEM IS people with mental illness that get possession of these types of firearms, and cause shootings, instead of the government offering the sick with HELP.

The ACTUAL FIREARM IS NOT THE PROBLEM, ITS THE PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. The “AR-15 has many use cases including, Hunting, Self Defense, and Sport target shooting at a range.

Any banning of any firearm is hurting the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS and their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to bear arms. The 2nd amendment as we know it has been under attack for a long time by the wrong people. Maybe everyone needs to hear this again, the part of the 2nd amendment that no one understands is it is WRITTEN stating the following, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”.

The meaning of this that is written in our Bill of rights and added to our constitution is that this is our RIGHT to keep and bear arms in case the over turn of a tyrannical government comes in to play, which is EXACTLY what is happening. 

Any weapon Ban, firearm ban, or magazine ban is ILLEGAL. It is WRITTEN IN OUR BILL OF RIGHTS OF THE USA CONSTITUTION.

When the government fears the people it is LIBERTY, when the people fear the government, there is TYRANNY.

In Illinois, this is the newly passed HB5855/HB5471 bill as stated. 
“    Amends the Illinois State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Division of Criminal Investigation of the Illinois State Police shall conduct other investigations as provided by law, including, but not limited to, investigations of human trafficking, illegal drug trafficking, and illegal firearms trafficking. Provides that the Division of Criminal Investigation shall provide statewide coordination and strategy pertaining to firearm-related intelligence, firearms trafficking interdiction, and investigations. Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Eliminates provisions that permit a person under 21 years of age who is not an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces or the Illinois National Guard to obtain a Firearm Owner's Identification Card with parental consent. Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that when a person under 21 years of age is hunting under the supervision of a adult, the adult must possess a Firearm Owners Identification Card. Amends the Firearms Restraining Order Act. Provides that the State's Attorney of the county where the petition is filed may act as a friend of the court in any action filed under the Act. Provides that a petitioner may request a one-year (rather than 6-month) firearms restraining order. Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Makes it unlawful to manufacture, deliver, sell, or purchase or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, or purchased or cause to be possessed by another, an assault weapon, assault weapon attachment, .50 caliber rifle, or .50 caliber cartridge. Makes it unlawful for any person to knowingly possess an assault weapon, .50 caliber rifle, or .50 caliber cartridge 300 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act, except possession of weapons registered with the Illinois State Police in the time provided. Provides exemptions and penalties. Prohibits the manufacture, delivery, sale, purchase, or possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices. Defines terms. Provides exemptions and penalties. Makes other changes. Effective immediately”

I fear as a law abiding citizen our CONSTITUTIONAL rights are trying to be OVER TURNED.  

Please help me in the fight to get our basic CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS back from those in the government that are abusing their power and passing laws they do not have the power to inforce.

Illinois sheriff offices have been writing Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker that they will not be enforcing this law change because it is a DIRECT VIOLATION OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

I hope you all join with me in supporting to get our Basic rights back And REPEAL THE LAWS THAT ARE PASSED AND THAT ARE TRYING TO BAN the very firearms that would turn millions of people into “criminals” overnight.
