Petition updateBank of Canada: Add women from Canadian history to Canadian bank notesLast Day to Participate in Bank of Canada Survey re Future Bank Notes

November 10th is the last day to participate in the Bank of Canada survey regarding bank notes. The Bank indicates that the results of this public consultation "will be used to design future series of Canadian bank notes" so I hope you will share your views about sexist notes that exclude women from Canadian history & don't celebrate diversity. The Principles for Bank Note Design don't include a commitment to include notable Canadian historical figures and sound similar to the familiar refrain that resulted in former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney purging Canadian women from our notes: these bank notes belong to all Canadians, reflect Canada, etc.

Please take the survey, and encourage friends and colleagues to sign our petition so we can send a strong message to the Bank of Canada. Are your MPs supporting our campaign? More than 48K people have already signed the petition, but it seems we need more support to convince the Bank (and the Minister of Finance, who approves the notes) that gender equality matters - and that we expect our notes to reflect pride in the achievements of both Canadian women and men. https://www.change.org/p/bank-of-canada-add-women-from-canadian-history-to-canadian-bank-notes
