Forty Million New Commemorative Bills Honouring Queen

The Bank of Canada has issued a new commemorative bank note to honour Queen Elizabeth II as the longest-reigning monarch in history. Forty million copies of the new bill will be printed. The new $20 bill is apparently a variation of a note that currently exists. While the honour obviously marks a very significant milestone, I continue to strongly believe that notable women from Canadian history (and people of diverse ethnic origins) must be featured on bills that the Bank of Canada itself says should reflect "the diversity of Canadian society, culture and achievements." (See Principles for Bank Note Design at http://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/principles-bank-note-design/). Why are Canadian women missing????More than fifty-six thousand people have now signed our petition! Time for action, and involvement of politicians.
