No Promises from Finance Minister Joe Oliver

Finance Minister Joe Oliver, responsible for approving the designs on Canadian bank notes, has responded to my letter requesting action on our petition. You’ll see from his letter that Minister Oliver (like Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz) is still not willing to commit to celebrating Canadian women on bank notes! Why not? Our petition calling on Stephen Poloz and Joe Oliver to add women from Canadian history to our bank notes has been signed by 55,642 supporters.
