Over the past few weeks, students at the University of West Florida have been dealing with ongoing incidents of alleged racism, transphobia, and harassment involving members of Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
Despite multiple incidents being documented on video and concerns being raised, students feel that the university administration has done little to address the situation.
There is a difference between having political disagreements and harassing people because of who they are. Racism and transphobia should not simply be dismissed as political opinions.
We are calling for TPUSA, its affiliated organizations, and all associated activities to be banned from the UWF campus. Students deserve to get an education without having to deal with harassment or intimidation.
