The Issue

As a survivor of rape and abuse, along with many of my family members, the existence of the movie "Megan is Missing" is deeply disturbing to me. Having an 18-year-old daughter and young nieces and nephews, I am particularly concerned about the impact this film can have on young minds.

This movie, which graphically illustrates the torture and rape of young girls, is sickening and sensationalizes real-life suffering. It is unfathomable to me why a documentary depicting such horrific acts was even made

The portrayal not only desensitizes viewers to violence and abuse but also opens wounds for countless survivors and their families, forcing them to relive their own traumas. It caters to voyeuristic tendencies rather than educating or offering meaningful discourse on the consequences of such heinous acts.

I call upon the authorities in our country to take action and ban "Megan is Missing." This movie goes beyond the realm of entertainment and into the exploitation of trauma. By banning it, we protect the dignity and memory of the victims and their families, prioritize the mental health of survivors, and safeguard the younger generation from being exposed to such graphic content.

The impact of consuming such disturbing media is long-lasting and can perpetuate cycles of violence and fear. By removing this film, we send a strong message against the trivialization of sexual violence and affirm our commitment to fostering a safer environment for all.

Join me in this campaign to protect our loved ones and advocate for sensitivity and respect towards victims and survivors of such grievous crimes. Please sign this petition to ban "Megan is Missing" in our country.
