Ban the Import of Military Equipment from the United States

Ban the Import of Military Equipment from the United States
The issue
The relationship between the United States and its allies - countries including Canada, Ukraine, Denmark, Australia, and others across Europe - has always been one of mutual trust and cooperation. As a concerned citizen, I have noticed with increasing concern, inconsistencies and unpredictable actions from the United States, manifesting doubt in its once stable and efficient alliance. It has been disheartening and deeply personal to witness the deterioration of these relationships of trust built over the years. As an Australian citizen, I’m concerned that the US no longer prioritises defending allies like Australia. Instead, it prioritises resource greed, threats of economic retaliation, and or annexation of those who disagree with US policy. Expenditure on US military equipment doesn’t guarantee future defence assistance. It supports a regime that no longer values allies spreads misinformation, and propaganda.
We therefore ask the Australian Government to prohibit the procurement and importation of all military equipment from the United States of America. Instead, we recommend replacing these purchases with imports from allied nations such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, and Asia while developing a military manufacturing industry in-house. By doing so, we can ensure that our military capabilities are not subject to the potential limitations imposed by the United States government.
Raised separately to the Parliament of Australia via Government E-Petition.
Please sign the petition to ban the import of military equipment from the United States.
