Ban the Colindale South CPZ Proposal

Ban the Colindale South CPZ Proposal
The Issue
Parking in Colindale and Edgware has been a longstanding challenge for both residents and visitors. As it stands, finding a parking spot is already a difficult task, and the proposed Colindale South Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) threatens to make this issue even worse. For many residents especially those living in private properties this proposal is not just an inconvenience, but a source of genuine concern.
What’s even more frustrating is that the majority of residents (63%) voted against the implementation of the CPZ during the consultation process. So why is it still being pushed forward? Ignoring the voice of the community not only undermines trust in local decision-making, but also raises serious questions about whose interests are truly being served.
Without adequate parking options, residents may find themselves isolated in their own homes, unable to easily welcome friends and family—something that’s essential for emotional well-being. The fear of coming home late at night and having nowhere safe or nearby to park is a real safety concern, particularly for women and children. The added restrictions from the CPZ could lead to even more limited parking availability, higher stress levels, and a decline in mental health due to increased isolation and frustration.
Our community deserves a smarter, fairer approach one that truly reflects the will of its people. We urge local authorities to listen to the outcome of the public vote and halt the implementation of the CPZ. Instead, consider alternative solutions like expanding residential parking permits, increasing available spaces, or improving local public transport options.
Please join us in standing up for a more inclusive and practical solution to our parking crisis. Sign this petition to make your voice heard and help ensure Colindale remains a safe, accessible, and connected community for all.
