Ban Smoking In The UK

The Issue

I'm writing this because of my mum. My mum is a future victim of what smoking can really do.
My mum smokes. When she gave birth to me and my twin sister, and 9 months prior to this, she quit. Now 14 years after, she has continued again because of peer pressure and it has struck my family's weak spots, including my dad's which has now occurred twice. His emotions fell when she told him that she was smoking again.
She told me she had been smoking daily to me for about 2 months after. That night she wasn't particularly sober and it definitely was one of the worst nights of my life. When she told me, I immediately cried and plead with her to stop. 1 minute later she left my room and instantly smoked again. This crushed our relationship.
About 6 months later of this relationship, and her "not smoking"; when I knew, daily, she had "walks" where she went outside to smoke. I think she thinks that walking long distances when smoking counters each other out. It doesn't. After her daily smokes, she came back home and immediately bathed or showered to get rid of the fumes on her. Obviously, I didn't tell her I knew this until today.
Today I caught her smoking outside. Well, she thought I caught her. I obliviously opened a window and I heard the rocks outside crashing against each other with my mum supposedly running inside. She placed her coat on a chair and went into the shower when inside. I reached into her coat pocket and found a smoking pack, with the deformed lungs on the front of it. This day has decayed me as a person, and yet again I desperately pleaded with her to stop, but the really frustrating and disappointing thing is that I know she won't stop. My mum's mum smoked. She died from cancer related to smoking. My mum is so tunnel-visioned that she doesn't realize that she's on the same path as her mum. This seriously messes with my head and it's genuinely so annihilating to me as a person that I'm about to experience her imminent departure; it even shocks me to write that.
Please can someone do something about banning smoking? I'm begging to whoever is reading this to do something to stop this horrible thing. Even smokers would agree that the negatives of smoking outweigh the positives both physically and mentally for themselves and their family members.
