New changes in the law don't go far enough #BanSchoolUniformInPorn

Yesterday the Government announced that online pornography depicting somebody pretending to be a child under 16 will be banned from early November.
Whilst we welcome this significant step and applaud the tireless campaigning that made it possible, the students of the Little Feminist Bookclub (LFB) believe a dangerous loophole still remains.
Under these new rules, anyone wearing a school uniform in pornographic content can simply claim to be depicting a 17-year-old. Yet a school uniform is explicitly designed to evoke childhood and school-age identities, contributing directly to the casual sexualisation of children.
This is why we are calling for a complete ban on school uniform in pornographic content.
From the LFB open letter to the Prime Minister: "Whilst this progression is positive, we still believe there is more we can currently achieve.
It is crystal clear that anyone depicted wearing a school uniform in pornography - whatever their age and whether they are pretending to be an individual under 16 or not - is simulating a school-aged identity and therefore sexualising children.
The school uniform that is worn solely by children lingers in the harmful sides of pornography and is still being advertised damagingly in retailers and online, all of which contributes to the aforementioned sexualisation of children.
It’s clear that creating a law to ban school uniform in pornography and restrict the promotion of buying school uniform costumes is a necessary step forward into freeing minors from the abuse that they continue to be subjected to under the highly dangerous gap that festers in your shield for them."
