Dear Consumer Products Safety Commission"  As the father of someone whose life has became a hell, I believe the result of playing with the Ouija board as a child, I investigated the "talking" board and was shocked to find that numerous psychologists who do not subscribe to the supernatural explanation of the Ouija consider it to be very psychologically harmful. 

Fortunately most who play with the board become scared enough of it to stop its use.  Others have gone on to commit brutal crimes or have a psychotic breakdowns.  There is an ordinance in El Cerrito, California banning the sale and/or possession of a Ouija board due to a mass psychotic breakdown of numerous of its residents in some cases requiring the  lifelong confinement of residents in California state mental hospitals.  In fact, mental illness associated with Ouija board use is so common the term mediumistic psychosis was invented to describe it.

Ouija boards should not be sold to minors under the age of 18.  Further, Hasbro and any other Ouija board manufacturer ought to provide a warning to purchasers that Ouija board use has been shown to adversely effect the mental health of those who use it, and particularly that of impressionable young people.
