Ban reality, it's overrated anyway

Ban reality, it's overrated anyway
The Issue
Are you tired of the relentless grind of studying, working, and meeting society’s never-ending expectations? Burnout is real, and the pressure to juggle work, education, and life leaves little room for creativity and self-expression. Many of us turn to hobbies like Dungeons & Dragons, Renaissance-Fairs, or diving into a good book for a brief escape—only to face judgment for our passions. Why is embracing imagination so often dismissed as childish or unproductive?
Creative outlets like reading, writing, and roleplaying aren’t just hobbies—they’re essential tools for stress relief and personal growth. They allow us to explore new perspectives, sharpen problem-solving skills, and rediscover joy in an otherwise monotonous routine. Yet, schools and workplaces rarely encourage creative thinking, prioritizing rigid schedules over innovation and imagination.
As a d&d player and avid fantasy lover, I decided to make a campaign that highlights the importance of creativity. Hobbies like d&d and reading fantasy can be often viewed as childish or silly by others. With this campaign I hope to inspire more people to pursue creative hobbies.
It’s time for a change. Let’s celebrate creativity, advocate for its importance in education, and normalise using fantasy as a healthy way to cope with life’s demands. Join us in “Banning Reality” and supporting a world that values imagination and self-expression. What will your escape look like?
Disclaimer: This petition is part of a project for a Media Literacy class, where we were tasked with creating and promoting a fictional campaign to apply principles of media communication, audience engagement, and critical analysis. The “Ban Reality” campaign is a creative exercise and is not intended to be taken literally. Its purpose is to explore how media can be used to address societal themes, spark discussions, and foster connections. Thank you for supporting!
