Victory: AFL bans supporters for life for racially abusing players
A big thank you to the 25 thousand people who signed on this petition to call on the AFL for the life ban to supporters that racially abuse players. Power to the people, without that pressure, there would have been no change within the AFL.
It’s great to see long overdue action finally being taken with a life ban stance against racists who thought it was ok to hurl racist abuse toward AFL players and get away with it.
Our Aboriginal brothers and sisters can finally be rest assured that action will be taken when this inevitably happens again.
Racism has no place in society. It certainly has no place when it’s aimed at our sporting heroes who just want to showcase their brilliance in their workplace. A place where they can shine and inspire.
Power to the people who committed to #EnoughIsEnough! Michael Long started it, Nicky Winmar, Gilbert McAdam, Adam Goodes, Eddie Betts & Jamarra Ugle-Hagan carried it, and now we all finished it!
This victory is just the beginning, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our sports arenas and society in general are free from racism and bigotry. We couldn't have done it without your support.
Once again, thank you for standing with us and saying "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH." Together, we will continue to fight for a world where everyone can enjoy sports, free from discrimination and hate.
Thank you,
Nova
