#BanRacistsFromAFL: 20,000 signatures

Dear signers, we're almost at 20,000 signatures - thank you for your continued support. I'm so proud of Jamarra for recreating Nicky Winmar's iconic moment and taking a stand against racism. Please keep sharing the petition to help us cross 20,000 signatures.
Did you see Nicky Winmar statement? He congratulated Jamarra for standing up for himself and said
"It's up to the new generations to reinforce the stance I made back in 1993.
I'm still here, still involved with the issue, but it's been 30 years now,
it's like a big relay race, time to pass on the baton."
"Things are getting better, with increased awareness, and kids are getting
educated in schools now about racism in sport and in society, which is great.
There's still a few who can't control their negative attitudes, all we can do is keep supporting each other, and keep calling it out."
Please keep sharing the petition to stand up against racists.
Aboriginal youth worker, Nikita Rotumah too had a powerful message to share:
"This year 81 of our brotha’s will step onto fields across this nation every week and they will not only have to feel the pressure of playing their hardest to get their team across the line when the final siren goes. They will also have to feel the pressure of knowing they have to try and do this in an environment that continues to put their spiritual and cultural wellbeing at risk of being harmed.
30 years on and our brotha’s are still not safe from discrimination and racial abuse while playing the game they love on their own ancestral lands.
We make up 2.5% of Australia’s population.
10% of AFL players and 4% of AFLW players in 2023 are First Nation players.
81 brothers in the AFL
20 sisters in the WAFL
Do better AFL,
Do better AFL fans,
Do better AUSTRALIA"
Together, we can make an equal, inclusive Australia. Please share the petition.
