Thank you to the hundreds of you who have written to say you don’t want helicopters in residential neighbourhoods.

If you’ve been putting off sending in your submission to stop the Coxs Bay helicopter now is the time - submissions close midnight on Tuesday 26th of November. It takes just a few minutes and you can do it all from www.quietsky.nz.

We’ve just posted a video of what rotor wash looks like when a helicopter is coming to land over a public beach. We can’t begin to imagine what this will do for the endangered birds that forage on the foreshore just metres from the proposed helipad on the headland in Westmere that juts into Coxs Bay.  

This will be our last update for 2024. We’ll be in touch when we know the outcome of the submissions and when the hearing will be held.
