Ban Pickleball Activities at Punggol Point Cove 2
The Issue
Living at 445A New Punggol Road (Punggol point cove 2) was once a nice experience, a place where peace was abundant and beautiful scenery. However, ever since pickleball games started at the multipurpose court below the block, the constant noise from ball hitting has become an unavoidable disturbance. Many residents, including myself, are struggling to find peace. The sound penetrates our living spaces even all windows are closed tightly and disrupts daily life, including essential rest and relaxation. The block downstairs already filled with noisy kids and kids playing soccer in the pavilion. Pickleball activities add more noise to the already very noisy estate.
The incessant noise affects not only night-time sleep but also any moment of peace we're trying to enjoy at home during the day. Children are unable to concentrate on their homework, adults find it challenging to work from home, and the elderly can’t enjoy their retirement in tranquility. We hoped that housing in Punggol Point Cove 2 would provide a peaceful retreat, but instead, it has become stress-inducing due to the pickleball activities.
While physical activities and sports are important, it should not come at the expense of residents' peace and well-being. There are numerous locations better suited for pickleball, distanced from residential blocks where the noise wouldn't be intrusive. We propose relocating the pickleball facilities to an area that doesn’t directly affect residential communities.
The solution is simple: move the pickleball activities to community centers or sports complexes where such activities can be accommodated without infringing on our peace. These establishments are designed for recreational activities and can handle noise better than residential surroundings.
We urge the Punggol community and relevant authorities to take immediate action. Relocating the facilities will restore the tranquility our community deserves and enhance the quality of life for all Punggol Point Cove 2 residents. Sign this petition to prioritize the resident's peace and living standards over convenience for a sport that has viable locations elsewhere. Let's work together to make our living environment as harmonious as it was intended to be.
