Hello everyone, 

Recently, I took my pets (rat) to the vet, for their 6 month check-up on their health. Unfortunately, they were diagnosed with respiration issues again and were given a prescription for medicine. However, shockingly, the total amount of this vet visit cost over $600. 

When you Google how much a pet rat visit should cost, it comes up as $60 USD which is approximately $102 AD. Although one of my rats is on 2 and the other is on 4 medications, this is too overpriced. Has anyone had a similar experience, whether your pet may be a fish, hamster or dog or cat or anything in between. 

Additionally, due to the fact that my pets are rats and not major pets in this world, I am not able to secure insurance for them. This will lead me to continuously pay an extraordinarily high amount of money, every time I take them to the vets.
