Ban Ocean Open Dumping in Thailand

Ban Ocean Open Dumping in Thailand
The Issue
Thailand is known for its beautiful topography on which the travel industry thrives. From calming mountains up north to gorgeous archipelago down south, Thailand is not short of natural beauties that continues to attract tourists everywhere. But it's secretly destroying itself
Headlined by The Guardian as 'World's Rubbish Dump' in 2018 after China's ban on e-waste and other plastics, Thailand has taken in the West's toxic rubbish alongside its Southeast Asian neighbours. Now The World's TOP 10 countries polluting the ocean with plastic at 22,806 Metric Tons; the locals acknowledges this, but the government seems to have its priority elsewhere.
As the western world pledging to go Net Zero by 2030, Thailand should follow and stop its coastlines from turning into a dumping ground from everyone and itself. The marine ecosystem and the local fishermen who benefits from it should not be deprived of their livelihoods and allowed to be free from drowning in plastic that will harm the region in the long run if it persists on this practice.
Stop Ocean Dumping in Thailand and make the Thai Government monitor and standardized the private waste companies and hold it ACCOUNTABLE!
