My name is Natalie an animal lover, owner and advocate. While browsing YouTube a platform used by over 2.1 Billion users including children for videos about a hamsters enrichment and diet I came across over 17 well known pages posting blatant animal abuse videos. 

  These videos consist of feeding live domesticated hamsters, guinea pigs, baby ducks and so fourth to reptiles in an abhorrent and traumatic manner for both the reptile and domestic animal. These animals are mostly not part are not apart of these animals diets in captivity or nature however these channels claims that their videos are based off nature or education keeps them active as a way to bypass YouTube’s animal abuse policy. Ethical live feeding only done when absolutely necessary in a quick and merciful manner is one thing but what is being shown in these videos is outright torture as I will explain now.

  Examples of only SOME of the content of these videos include: one or more hamster being put in a small glass box with a reptile, three or more reptiles being put in a small glass box with only one hamster, mouse or other rodent in order to insight fighting and fear, dozens of hamsters being put together and made to fight some missing limbs and injured or screeching in panic before being introduced to the predator about to hunt them in a small inescapable glass box, a Pac-Man frog eating multiple hamsters, baby chicks, mice and so fourth in one sitting causing obesity, injuries and so fourth to the frog. The list goes on. These animals are not being killed swiftly, painlessly or humanely they are being tortured and battered before their demise with the major risk of the reptile itself contracting diseases, being harmed and stressed while being over fed for sadistic entertainment.

  My goal for this petition is to educate those on animal abuse, have these channels removed as well as the animal abuse content from YouTube, make YouTube aware of the massive oversight in their policy and educate those on the true nature of these animals to prevent the false narrative that these videos are okay, normal or natural in any way.
