We call upon all to protect humanity’s shared cultural heritage in Palmyra from air strikes, from the use of the site for military purposes, and from any other destruction such as illegal excavations and looting. With this human intervention, we are aiming to stop the crimes in Syria and to protect the cultural heritage, as both are part of the protection of human rights, and identity and memory of the people. The upcoming hours will be a test for the humanity to take an action before the crime happens and succeeds to preserve the historical monuments.

نطالب جميع الأطراف بحماية تدمر المدينة الأثريّة. خاصة من الغارات الجويّة أو من استخدامها كمقرّات عسكرية ومن اي تدمير للارث الثقافي او تنقيب ونهب للاثار.  لعل التدخل الإنساني لوقف المقتلة السورية وحماية هذا التراث الانساني يعبر من بوابة حماية حقوق الانسان وذاكرته وثقافته. ولعلّ الضمير الدولي المتحجّر أمام صور الموت واللجوء السوري، سيتحرك أمام الخطر المحدق بالأحجار والأبنية الأثرية حفظاً للكرامة البشرية وللذاكرة الإنسانية.
