Sadly the Warrnambool Racing Carnival is being touted as "one of the best racing carnivals in Australia". The fact is that the Grand Steeplechase on Thursday will force horses to run 5,500 metres and jump over 33 hurdles. This gruelling race boasts having the most jumps of any jumps race in the world. If you are able to get to Warrnambool please join the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses to protest this awful cruelty and urgently demand a ban on jumps racing.
