I am an Indian youth, and I am speaking out against the detrimental impacts of Instagram, an American company owned by Meta. I find myself succumbing to the addictive nature of this platform. It distracts me from my essential tasks and derails my focus, even during crucial times like my exams. I start with a few minutes on Instagram, and before I know it, hours have passed, wasted on frivolity.

Instagram isn't just addictive. It is also a breeding ground for vulgarity and nudity. This readily available, sensationally appealing content triggers us at a biological level, causing both physical and mental strain. The increase in the spread and consumption of such content is alarming.

Further, Instagram has often become a platform for spreading harmful content about various religions, which only serves to foster discord in our diverse country. Social media comments have become hotbeds for manipulation and conflict, ultimately leading to communal tension within India.

As an Indian, I worry about our relationship with America, which can be strained and unstable at times. With Instagram's American roots, there's a potential risk of letting a foreign power wield too much influence in our internal affairs.

By banning Instagram, we can take a step in the right direction, protecting our youth from manipulation and harmful content, maintaining communal harmony, and preserving our national integrity against potential foreign interference.
