I would like to put an end to the horse and carriage rides in Boston, Massachusetts for tourism and “fun”, for these overworked horses .... as it is ridiculously old fashioned and cruel on the horses. There is no need for this at all, this is an old tradition and it needs to stop! Completely unnecessary & it needs to be banned. Please sign this petition to put and end to this, and get these horse and carriages OFF the streets of Boston.

I am a local native of Boston and I live in downtown Boston. I see horse drawn carriage rides endlessly, while the horses are lethargically lugging around a weighted carriage filled with people. These horses are malnourished as their rib cages are exposed and are not properly treated working long hours pulling large weight from 5 PM to midnight in the cold and busy filled streets.  

Forcing a skittish animal to pull an oversized carriage, breathe toxic exhaust fumes, and risk serious leg injuries by pounding the pavement all day is a recipe for disaster.
