As a survivor of online child grooming at the age of 9, I represent voices seeking a safer online environment for children across the world.

This begins with banning hashtags like 'groomertwt' , ‘groomtwt_’ , ‘lolipoptwt’ , ‘redcherrytwt’ and more from X, which endangers and exposes pedophiles to minors on the Internet. 

As per The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, there were over 16.9 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation in 2019, an alarming increase from previous years. 

Most of these hashtags are seemingly harmless at first sight, actually has minors asking to be groomed and offering to ‘sell’ inappropriate media of themselves. 

Let’s prioritise children's online safety. Let's work towards eliminating spaces that could serve as a breeding ground for online predators.
