The issue

The greyhound racing industry in NSW has a long and troubling history of animal cruelty. As a guardian of a rescued greyhound who endured 35 races before age 3, I have seen firsthand the devastating impact this industry has on vulnerable animals. It’s time for NSW to take a stand and permanently ban greyhound racing.

Why greyhound racing must end in NSW:

  1. Widespread animal cruelty: 20% of racing greyhounds are euthanized due to severe injuries.[1]
  2. Systemic abuse: Greyhounds are raced at "barbaric" intensities, locked in metal cages for extended periods, and subjected to extreme distress.[2]
  3. Successful bans elsewhere: The ACT banned greyhound racing in 2018, recognising the industry’s inability to reform and prioritise animal welfare. New South Wales must follow suit.
  4. Ethical imperative: As a compassionate society, we must protect vulnerable animals from exploitation.

Join us in giving a voice to these innocent animals. Let's make NSW the next state to stand up for greyhound welfare. Their lives depend on our action.
