"Is Fine Gael now the only party in the Dáil standing in the way of ending this animal cruelty?" - Ruth Coppinger TD (Solidarity, Dublin West) urges Richard Bruton TD (Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment) and the Fine Gael party to "do the right thing" and ban cruel fur farming in Ireland.
Tweeting after the speech, Deputy Coppinger noted that Minister Bruton was "clearly under pressure and didn't commit either way". She is urging everyone to "keep up the pressure on Fine Gael".
Fine Gael is being urged to follow Fianna Fáil, the Green Party, Sinn Fein, Labour Party, People Before Profit, Independents 4 Change, the Social Democrats and Independent TDs in pledging support for Solidarity's upcoming Prohibition of Fur Farming bill (due for debate in Dail Eireann on 3rd July, with a vote on 4th July).
