An opinion poll carried out by Irish farming news website, That's Farming, has found that a massive majority support a ban on fur farming.
The results show that 82% of That's Farming followers are in favour of a ban on fur farming. The same percentage agreed that fur farming is a bad representation of the Irish agricultural industry.

62 per cent said they were not aware that fur farms are responsible for the increased American mink populations in the wild.
The poll is the second this month to confirm overwhelming support for a ban on fur farming. The results of a Red C poll carried out on behalf of Respect for Animals/ISPCA and published last week revealed that 80 per cent of the public want the government to ban fur farming.
The poll results will increase pressure on Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Agriculture Minister Michael Creed to do the right thing and put in place a long overdue ban.
