Ban fur farming in Ireland
Morrissey pleas for abolition of Irish fur farms
Irish Council Against Blood Sports
Mullingar, Ireland
Jun 9, 2015 —
Source: RTE 10 http://www.rte.ie/ten/news/2015/0525/703675-morrissey-pleas-for-abolition-of-irish-fur-farms/ Morrissey has congratulated Ireland on the passing of the same-sex marriage referendum and has also pleaded with the Irish people to close all fur and factory farms and halt the transportation of livestock. The former frontman of The Smiths, who was born to Irish immigrant parents in Manchester, wrote on fansite true-to-you that the closure of fur farms would mean that Ireland had completely transitioned to the 21st century. The letter, in full, reads: "Congratulations to Ireland. The people, once again, teach the church. The people, once again, teach the politicians. Now, Ireland, please abolish fur farms and factory-farming and transportation of live animals, and welcome yourself completely into the 21st century. Morrissey, 24 May 2015, Sydney, Australia."
