The city council majority are disingenuously trying to remove traffic lanes on Fountain Ave., and to add protected bike lanes. Fountain Avenue is important because it takes traffic stress off of both Sunset Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. They also are supposedly going to widen the sidewalks. While the sidewalks need widening, let's ask ourselves...why are they widening them ifthey are not removing the rental scooters(and delivery robots)??? This ill advised project is not increasing safety for pedestrians at all!! AND, it will create terrible gridlock on Fountain. The proponents cite accidents on Fountain. However, in the last four days, there have been several bad traffic accidents… One on Fountain, two on Santa Monica, and one on Sunset! So, why are they only talking about Fountain? Because it is politically expedient for the Erickson/Hang campaign to do so!
