Ban Cruelty and Neglect: Protect Stray Animals Through Global Cooperation

Ban Cruelty and Neglect: Protect Stray Animals Through Global Cooperation
The Issue
Millions of stray dogs and cats around the world live without food, shelter, or medical care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are nearly 200 million stray dogs globally, with even more stray cats struggling to survive (Four Paws International, 2025). This problem affects not only animals but also people—stray overpopulation contributes to disease transmission, unsanitary conditions, and public safety risks. Rabies alone causes 59,000 human deaths annually, with over 95% of cases in Asia and Africa linked to unvaccinated stray dogs (600 Million Dogs, 2025).
If we continue to ignore this issue, millions more animals will suffer from hunger, disease, and cruelty. However, by acting now, we can make a lasting difference. Governments, organizations, and communities must work together to establish animal shelters and adoption programs, implement spay and neuter initiatives, enforce anti-cruelty and abandonment laws, and launch education campaigns promoting responsible pet ownership.
The time to act is now. Each year we delay, more animals are born into suffering. By signing this petition, you support humane and sustainable solutions to reduce stray populations and promote compassion worldwide. Together, we can build a future where every dog and cat is cared for, protected, and given a second chance at life. Let us be the stewards that God wants us to be.
