The locals I am working with have advised, if travelling to the Gili Islands please do not take heavy/ big suitcases to the islands. If you take heavy suitcases, this will leave travel to accommodation on the island very difficult unless you get the horse drawn cart system (and we want to avoid people using this). Please take very light luggage such as a backpack so you can either walk, cycle or use the electric bike to travel to your accommodation. We need to prevent people using the horse drawn carts on the island! Thank you all!
