UK government must get Github to restrict code sharing where it forms that completion of a full image/video generation app and doesn't have the legal limitations and restrictions to prevent the AI apps from generating child porn videos and coded to blend adult porn sounds in with actual illegal child sex videos!! As a UK social worker and a parent, I am deeply concerned about the escalating misuse of technology, particularly in how AI-generated images and videos are exploiting children and blurring moral boundaries. With the generation of deepfakes and AI-created child pornography becoming a worrying trend, it is imperative that both UK and international governments take immediate action to legislate against websites that host or create code for fully functional apps without legal limitations embedded in the code.

Currently, websites that allow the creation of operational apps, including installers that operate without legal oversight, are contributing to an alarming increase in AI-generated inappropriate content. This technology not only endangers children by creating deceptive imagery but also facilitates harmful activities such as child sex trafficking, particularly in regions where legal regulations are lenient. For example, the age of consent in certain countries, such as Colombia, is alarmingly low at just 14 years, making children vulnerable to exploitation.

The atrocities generated by this unregulated technology need to be halted. There has been a rise in violence, and a lax approach to international regulations could lead to more cases of abductions and exploitation of minors. AI is making it possible for programs to alter images in a way that can depict minors as older, thus skirting around regulation and amplifying the risk to children.

Instead of relying on internet service providers to detect and report child exploitation, we need robust systems like Humane OS designed explicitly to safeguard children. Internet service providers have been overly relaxed in taking action, allowing paedophiles to use VPNs and firewall services to elude capture while exploiting the vulnerable. It is crucial that we ensure emerging technologies are equipped with restrictions that prevent misuse from the outset.
