The Issue

Every time the average collector like you wants to buy a collectible, (i.e. Pokémon) can’t anymore because those stupid scalpers have bots that buy out products in literal seconds. It’s destroying the hobby for everyone. Nobody wants to pay $150 for a box that should be $50. This has been an issue for years, and somehow has barely got any attention by the government.

While the BOTS Act of 2016 prohibits bot use for event tickets, it does not protect consumers in the growing markets for trading cards, consoles, sneakers, and collectibles. We need Congress to step up and expand the law to include these products — banning bot-assisted bulk purchasing and penalizing scalpers who exploit automation.

Join us in demanding fair access to collectibles and a level playing field for all fans. Sign this petition to urge Congress to:

Make it illegal to use bots to buy high-demand retail goods for resale
Enforce meaningful fines and penalties for violators
Protect consumers, hobby shops, and the future of collectible communities

Together, we can stop the bots and scalpers — and make collecting fair again for everyone.
