Disappointing to see the Irish Examiner giving coverage to hare coursing in its "sports" section. 

A report in the newspaper today, 2nd February 2026, stated: "The 100th National Coursing Meeting produced some excellent coursing over the course of the three days". https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/othersport/arid-41786780.html 

Coursing involves capturing hares from the wild in nets, holding them in captivity for weeks/months and eventualy forcing them to run for their lives from pairs of dogs. The vast majority in Ireland want this cruel bloodsport banned.

ACTION ALERT

Join us in telling the Irish Examiner that hare coursing is animal cruelty, NOT sport.
