Foxes were terrorised by pack of beagle dogs during a shameful hunt in County Wicklow.
A report in the Irish Field outlined that at the start of the Mr Kerr's Beagles hunt, two foxes “ducked in and out of the covert as they continued back and forward up through the gorse and, eventually, they decided to leave for a nice run to the bottom of the valley”. The fate of these foxes was not revealed.
Later, two more foxes “were on the run and the pack were spoiled for choice”. According to the 3 January 2025 report, these unfortunate foxes were “slow to leave Clarke’s farm”. It is unknown if they escaped with their lives or were caught and torn apart by the dogs.
The hunt was hosted by “Ronan and Louise Wilson, who are followers of the Kildare Foxhounds...Ronan is from a family, who have been in the meat trade for many years and he specialises in producing many plant-based products including gluten-free breadcrumbs, chicken, turkey and bacon...”
Shame on the Irish Government for allowing this bloodsport to continue in 2025. A RED C opinion poll, commissioned by the Irish Council Against Blood Sports, shows that a 77% majority (in both urban and rural areas) agree that the government should ban fox hunting. The poll found that just 12 per cent disagree with a ban.

Contact the leaders of Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Sinn Fein and the Labour Party. Tell them that you want fox hunting, hare coursing and all bloodsports banned.
