General election candidate Ruth Coppinger (People Before Profit – Solidarity) has said she will introduce a “Ban Fox Hunting” bill if elected.
Ruth, a former TD and current Fingal County Councillor, is running in the election in the Dublin West constituency.
“It’s Incredible that big parties in the Dail support allowing a beautiful animal be ripped to shreds for entertainment. Shame on Fianna Fail and Fine Gael,” Ruth stated in a tweet (23 Oct 2024). https://x.com/RuthCoppingerSP/status/1849201405501837780
She went on to point out that the Green Party has “done nothing on it” while in government. This, despite the party’s Animal Welfare Policy stating: “The Green Party is opposed to all bloodsports and we will bring in legislation to end hare coursing, fox hunting, hare hunting and mink hunting”.
“If elected, I would introduce a #BanFoxHunting Bill,” Ruth promised.
Ruth Coppinger was instrumental in securing a ban on fur farming in Ireland.
She is also in favour of a ban on greyhound racing and hare coursing.
If you are in the Dublin West constituency, please give Ruth Coppinger your number 1 vote.
